Uncheck the box Use area code and Dialing Properties. Then click on tab Server Types.

In the Type of Dial-Up Server , select PPP: Internet, Windows NT Server, Windows 98. Only check two boxes: Enable software compression and TCP/IP. Then click TCP/IP Settings...

Select Server assigned IP address. Select Specify name server addresses. Use the following for Primary DNS and Secondary DNS respectivley: 202.85.226.194 and 202.85.225.3 Then click OK to continue.

Now you will be back to this screen. Click on Configure... now.

Select the Port and Maxmimum speed according to your own modem. Then click on the tab Options.

Ensure only one box is checked: Display modem status. All other boxes should be not checked. Then click OK.

Now double click on PowerNet icon in the Dial-Up Networking group. The following Connect To window will show. Enter your User name and Password . Then click Connect to start your modem connection.

If you see a screen with Connected at xxxx bps then you have connected to the internet successfully.
